This section of the website is self explanatory, it is to introduce the user to what a coronavirus is. The user scrolls down and gets to read the information and click around to other areas, like an interactive online textbook. I choose bright colors to make the site look less like a regular science textbook despite the content and tap more into the fun interactive feel.

The second part of the website shows the user how the coronavirus infects your cells. Using a navigation bar on the left allows the user to click through every aspect of the 7 step process. This way, the user can go back or forward steps if they need to look at those parts again. Using bright colors and micro-animations during this part of the site helps the user visualize the actions and illustrate the cell parts, making the experience more engaging and helping keep the information more memorable.

The third and final part of the site shows how to keep yourself and others safe in public health crises like the COVID-19 pandemic. The user can explore which masks they should use, why social distancing matters, and what happens to viruses when you wash your hands. I wanted to have this section visually stand out from the other two because it sets itself outside of the microbiology realm and I did this by changing the color of the site from purple to a light medical blue color.
